Jamie Shakleton
Jamie Shackleton is an Artist, creator and stay at home mother. She loves the outdoors including camping, fishing and kayaking through Michigan's Wilderness, this connection to the earth is a clear influence in the pieces she creates. Graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration: Focusing on Painting portraiture showing deep emotion through color choice, and texture. Shortly after becoming a mother it seemed a comfortable addition to begin illustrating henna designs on the surface of the body's canvas.
Mehndi is great medium for her to get into that artistic trance of loosing herself, of feeling relaxed, energized and grounded.
Professionally Jamie has been vending Henna art for two years at Michigan Music Festivals and local West Michigan art festivals and events. Jamie keeps herself busy with a number of different creative projects going at once: knitting, paint markers, oil painting, jewelry and even reading a book, while trying to wrangle an awesome but extremely energetic two year old. Jamie enjoys working with clients to design one of a kind pieces,she loves talking and getting to know them through what they choose. Or if your feel like letting go she loves just "seeing" something emerge fitting perfectly with the contours and natural shapes of the body. She also has a large selection of previous works in portfolio books for clients who may enjoy browsing.
